Blogging

I've just finished listening to the Ducttape Marketing session on blogs and podcasts. What struck me is:

1. How many things I don't know about the internet and how it works
2. How many things I don't know about blogging and how to make it work for me
3. How much a marketing coach has to know about the internet, especially if he works with small businesses.

There seems to be no doubt that blogging, podcasting, and social networking are a wave for new entrepreneurs as a lower cost option of marketing to an audience the old methods would never get to without huge dollars. I just need to study the options. My view of this blog was to start it, get my rhythm, then get it out to potential gym members and franchisees when it was more "polished" and had some mass behind it. For those few of you reading it now, you've probably been invited specifically. You are my "guinea pigs" as it were - hopefully as happy as this one:

Now I find out in this audio file from John Jantsch, that my blog titles are easily recognized by search engines and that my titles need to have good key words in them (how about "Guinea Pigs", or "Stupid Car Dealers"?) I also learned how to put the blog in my webpage (which is still in the works, even though it is website 2.0, now named www.athleticnationtriangle.com). That doesn't even begin to talk about digging or tagging, putting a site as a bookmark somewhere, etc. I've got a lot to learn!
